Its a Wednesday

Its Wednesday the 28th and I confused this day with a YearUp day so I accidentally woke up at about 5am. I was quite happy that I didn't have to go to the bart station. So I proceeded to go back to sleep.

Post X-mas

Had a nice xmas with family, I spent most of it at home watching movies back to back like "In Time" and "Cowboys and Aliens". After I took a nice nap, I woke up at about 2am and Skyped a few friends.

Internships, Ready!

To me someone who is internship ready can look at a difficult task and feel confident that they can complete this task in a correct and professional manner. I plan to change the work ethic I have come to be a custom to and apply a more efficient to my business skills. I want to be able to conduct myself in my internship as professionally as possible and show my supervisors that I am not here for an internship; I am here for a career. This process may have to include cutting down a few things outside of the work place I enjoy, that don’t necessarily help me achieve my goal to have a successful career. The main thing I would like to change is my tendency to have an “I can do it later” attitude. It can get in the way of a lot of great opportunities and set me back from many goals I can easily achieve.

First jobs first

My first and only job that I am still currently working at is lifeguarding and a water safty instructor. I have been working as a lifeguard for about 7 or 8 years now, I started when I was very young and I wasn't all that excited for it. I had been forced into a Jr lifeguarding course at about age 12 by my mother, she told me that this would be a great skill for me to have sense I was a swimmer anyways. After I finished the course the job grew on me after a while and I decided to continue with it. Now I am one of the longest working employees since that time. The job isn't that difficult after you finish all of your training, your main duties consist of being caucious and curtious to the patrons, cleaning and maintanece of the pool, and the abilitiy to act accordingly when an emergencey arises. The perks I would have to say is the free, unlimited acssess to the pools recouses and being able to use the pool at will anytime I please to use it. Some of the downsides include having to clean up after messy patrons or bodily fluids of any sort, but the benefit of knowing that I am helping someone or saving someone's life out weighs that fact in any sense.

Mural vs. Occupy

The mural, Frozen Assets and the occupy movement are very similar in that they represent similar points. In the mural you see in the middle level that there are people sleeping in cots because of the depression which is similar to the reason the occupy movement started. The occupy movement tries to make their selves prominent to the top 1% of the world by staying near U.S. government establishments.

An inspiration

The biggest inspiration I have had to date has been the yearup program. I have never had the drive to perform the best of my ability puerly for my own benefit for a long time if not ever. Yearup gives me the inspiration to create a success for myself and to continue on until I have a carreer. I want to make a name and profit from the skills that I aquire from this program.

My Community Free Write

I am part of a lot of different communities but the one that is the most prevalent right now is my dance group for the cause. We are a professional crew coming from Alameda, located at the Bladium Sprots center. The one common thing that brings us together is dance but there are things here and there that we’ll find a common ground on. I really consider this group as more of a family than a dance crew because we do all that we can to support each other.

My LACK of Neighborhood

To me a Neighborhood does not have to shape you. There are people that let that shape who they are or people that say they came out of a neighborhood that was pointing them in the wrong directions but to me or at least in my case a neighborhood played no part in what I am. I don’t think this is the case always there are times where because of everything that’s going on in and around your neighborhood it is all you know, whether it be good or bad, this is case sometimes. For me in my own experience I never spent much time in my neighborhood I always liked roaming around to different places, I can never stay in one area because I like to get the big picture. There’s nothing about my neighborhood that suggests that, I live in the El Cerrito hills which is one of the wealthier areas in the bay area, most of the people that live in that area like living in their own oasis because it is what’s comfortable to them. I can’t stay there for too long because it just gets down right boring but then again at the same time I like living in the area because of all the nature. I can almost say that what shaped me was the lack of attachment to anyone place, I need to test my boundaries in many different areas to get the full picture.

Companies and the Divide

I feel large companies such as insurance companies, banks that deal out "cash now" loans and credit card companies are either playing a big part in creating the opportunity divide or at least not contributing to its depletion. Also I place some of the blame on the people or the general public, it is up to use to see through the plots against us, yes, as US citizens or human beings for that matter we should not be conned/scammed in the first place but fact is it's a real threat to our pride and our wellbeing, we have to see through them. Lastly I would like to change two things. First I would like to erase credit from ever having to be invented, if credit wasn't so there would be more people making responsible purchases. Credit allows you to purchase out of your capacity and with most people's "buy now pay later" attitude, it catches up with them fast. second i would like to have a mandatory credit class for high schoolers, credit itself cannot be undone since it is now a part of the world's system but if we teach our boy's and girl's about its benefits and its drawbacks throughly then we may see a large change in the opportunity divide.

Me in a Nutshell

I was borne in savanna Georgia in 1992 to a mother and father who were actively in the military, they had me shortly after they finished their duty in the first Iraq war. in 1993 we moved to U.S. military housing a little outside of death valley, it was called fort Irwin California, there we lived for about two year where they were still in active duty but my mother retired so she could take care of me. in 1995 we moved to Victorville California, a city about an hour away from death valley and 2 hours away from L.A., this was a transitional period of my life, my mother and father decided to separate and my mother and i moved to my grandmother's house in EL Cerrito California.

Does Facebook's change equal loss of popularity?

In the world of Facebook, a lot of its users are partial to the old, nostalgic feeling they get from the classic lay out, but from time to time there are small updates that change the look and feel of the website. A lot of the time the masses are very disgruntled about the change, but they can get over it in about three to four days. Now it seems like that may not be the case. Mark Zuckerberg (creator, founder, and CEO of Facebook) is putting his pride and joy under a fool body makeover. Recently he had some changes on the famous wall feed, (which updates you on your friend or friend's activities) which has caused one of the largest cyber upsets since My Space was sold to Justin Timberlake. This leads me to ask will his super social network keep its popularity in the upcoming months of intense change. Mark recently announced at F8 that he would be adding a volley of new apps to his social network, including on the main profile a new editable timeline seen here, http://technolog.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2011/09/22/7898095-facebook-shows-off-new-timeline-profiles-apps-and-more . I want to see how Facebook fairs in the next few months of change.

EL Cerrito High School, Home of the Gauchos!

My high school life was similar to most but different at the same time, i went into my high school knowing 3 people that i didn't even see a good 90% of the time. I set out to meet new people, friend hopping from place until eventually I came across a group of people that had a reputation in the school as “the dancers” I joined that group with no intentions of dancing but watching them have such a passion and love for it drove my passion. Within about a month I had been working on my “moves” per say. They quickly noticed that I had a similar passion and throughout my high school life to current times we have been striving for each of us to improve. But more on the high school side of life I can say I had a good social point and enough close friends to help when times were rough, but I never let myself get so caught up in the drama that is “high school” because I would have been too stressed to focus and graduate. My favorite year I would have to say was my senior year, I spent all of my time in the dance studio as a T.A. and friend to my dance teacher. She had many life lessons to teach that to this day I use.

How do i speak?

I would like to say I have made my own way of speaking. Thinking back I've not only used my words differently but coupled with strong grammar and slang i have a style of speech i can use at almost any occasion.
I have my original speech from my mother, she uses professional english where she goes so as her son and growing up as a only child i started to pick it up seamlessly. After i got into the 6th grade i realized i was the only person not using slang, so I decided to pick it up. now I can say that i picked up a lot of the way I talk from my friends, also as my friends changed my speech changed, for the most part I can say that my speech has changed with every new set of friends that I have had.
When I speak I like to switch my styles in mid sentence I can be very casual and then switch to formal in the next sentence. I have heard from many people saying that i talk "weird" but i always remember there is no "right" way to speak english. I embrace my individualistic speech and don't plan on chainging it any time soon.
