My Community Free Write

I am part of a lot of different communities but the one that is the most prevalent right now is my dance group for the cause. We are a professional crew coming from Alameda, located at the Bladium Sprots center. The one common thing that brings us together is dance but there are things here and there that we’ll find a common ground on. I really consider this group as more of a family than a dance crew because we do all that we can to support each other.

My LACK of Neighborhood

To me a Neighborhood does not have to shape you. There are people that let that shape who they are or people that say they came out of a neighborhood that was pointing them in the wrong directions but to me or at least in my case a neighborhood played no part in what I am. I don’t think this is the case always there are times where because of everything that’s going on in and around your neighborhood it is all you know, whether it be good or bad, this is case sometimes. For me in my own experience I never spent much time in my neighborhood I always liked roaming around to different places, I can never stay in one area because I like to get the big picture. There’s nothing about my neighborhood that suggests that, I live in the El Cerrito hills which is one of the wealthier areas in the bay area, most of the people that live in that area like living in their own oasis because it is what’s comfortable to them. I can’t stay there for too long because it just gets down right boring but then again at the same time I like living in the area because of all the nature. I can almost say that what shaped me was the lack of attachment to anyone place, I need to test my boundaries in many different areas to get the full picture.

Companies and the Divide

I feel large companies such as insurance companies, banks that deal out "cash now" loans and credit card companies are either playing a big part in creating the opportunity divide or at least not contributing to its depletion. Also I place some of the blame on the people or the general public, it is up to use to see through the plots against us, yes, as US citizens or human beings for that matter we should not be conned/scammed in the first place but fact is it's a real threat to our pride and our wellbeing, we have to see through them. Lastly I would like to change two things. First I would like to erase credit from ever having to be invented, if credit wasn't so there would be more people making responsible purchases. Credit allows you to purchase out of your capacity and with most people's "buy now pay later" attitude, it catches up with them fast. second i would like to have a mandatory credit class for high schoolers, credit itself cannot be undone since it is now a part of the world's system but if we teach our boy's and girl's about its benefits and its drawbacks throughly then we may see a large change in the opportunity divide.

Me in a Nutshell

I was borne in savanna Georgia in 1992 to a mother and father who were actively in the military, they had me shortly after they finished their duty in the first Iraq war. in 1993 we moved to U.S. military housing a little outside of death valley, it was called fort Irwin California, there we lived for about two year where they were still in active duty but my mother retired so she could take care of me. in 1995 we moved to Victorville California, a city about an hour away from death valley and 2 hours away from L.A., this was a transitional period of my life, my mother and father decided to separate and my mother and i moved to my grandmother's house in EL Cerrito California.
